Behave!

My son, Tom, not enjoying having his photograph taken. Again!

All About Me (or The Bit I Hate)

I’ve been taking photos for a long time. I had my first camera when I was about 13, a reconditioned Halina Paulette, which was given to me by my camera technician brother who happens to be the reason that I got into taking pictures in the first place. I then progressed to an Olympus Trip 35, Olympus OM 2n (the best camera I’ve ever had IMHO) and a Canon T90 before kids (I have 3), marriage (I have 1), redundancy and financial hardship meant selling up and concentrating on trying to make a living in IT. Since getting back ‘into’ taking pictures I’ve ended up with a Nikon D90 via a broken D70 and borrowed Canon AE. The latter lives in the bottom of my wardrobe waiting for the day when my eldest sone starts his photography A-Level.

I’ve now taken the decision that I need to start and making pictures rather than taking photos and at least try to achieve part-time professional status. Which is where this blog comes in. In it I hope to share my experiences with you and hopefully see my picture taking making improve over the coming months and years.

I used to be 40 years old, have three lovely boys, a gorgeous and loving wife, I’m a Linux server engineer, drive an Alfa Romeo and live in the UK.
